Savannah, GA – August 29, 2011 – The inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah  Marathon & ½ Marathon is thrilled to announce that Carolina Liar will headline the post-race concert on Saturday, November 5, 2011.  Less than 200 spots remain for the event that will conclude race weekend with a finish line festival at Forsyth Park.

“We are thrilled to be able to have more than 30 great Savannah bands rock race day for 23,000 runners and thousands of fans and spectators,” said Malain McCormick, Event Director for the November marathon. “It wouldn’t be a Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon without a post race concert, and to cap off race day by hosting Carolina Liar at the finish line stage will be a special experience for all event participants.”

Fueled by the hit singles “I’m Not Over” and “Show Me What I’m Looking For,” Carolina Liar’s 2008 debut Coming to Terms became one of the year’s most acclaimed releases, with the band’s songs generating nationwide airplay on modern rock and alternative stations, appearing on such TV shows as The Vampire Diaries, American Idol, Gossip Girl and The Hills.  Spotlighted as an iTunes Single of the Week, “Show Me What I’m Looking For” logged more than 600,000 downloads, and “I’m Not Over” shot to No. 3 on Billboard‘s Modern Rock Chart.

The band toured extensively in support of the first album, sharing stages with the likes of One Republic and Rob Thomas. They also performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Ellen Degeneres Show, played themselves in an episode of 90210, were spotlighted as a Rolling Stone “Breaking” artist, and featured in both MTV’s “Discover & Download” and VH1′s “You Oughta Know” programs.

“It was a good start, but we want more,” Carolina Liar singer/guitarist Chad Wolf says of his band’s success as they prepare to release their new album Wild Blessed Freedom on September 27.  “It sounds bigger and it feels bigger.”
