Registration Opens for Rock ‘n’ Roll Pittsburgh Half Marathon

Pittsburgh, PA – May 5, 2012 – The newest destination on the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series calendar is off and running, with registration now available for the inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll Pittsburgh Half Marathon. The race will debut on Sunday, August 4, 2013, taking runners from across the country on a musical 13.1 mile tour of one of America’s iconic cities.

In a unique mix of fitness and entertainment, Rock ‘n’ Roll Pittsburgh will feature live, local bands every mile of the course, enthusiastic cheerleaders and thousands of motivating spectators. Along the way, participants will journey past Pittsburgh’s most notable landmarks, unique neighborhoods and scenic riverfront.

Registration is now open at Competitor.com, with the first 500 people to sign up receiving a discounted price of $55. After that, registration will be priced at $75 through August 4, 2012.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series now runs in 29 cities across the world, with events held in the U.S. and four international destinations. The events create a community wide celebration by combining on course entertainment with a finish line festival and post race concert. Past Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon concert headliners have included Cheap Trick, Blues Traveler, Pitbull, B-52s, Goo Goo Dolls and Bret Michaels.
