Shoe Donation Provided by Give Running!
Give Running (www.giverunning.org) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that teaches youth, through running, the character traits and skills that serve as a foundation for success in all aspects of life.
It was founded six years ago by USC distance runner and recent graduate Greg Woodburn when serious injuries made him realize: Running is hard, but NOT running is harder.
To promote a love for running as well as the many benefits and opportunities running fosters – such as improved health, self-confidence, and new friendships – Give Running has to date collected, cleaned, and donated more than 14,000 pairs of new and used running and athletic shoes to disadvantaged youth in developing countries and local inner-city communities.
Give Running also conducts Pyramid Running Camps, fun runs, and other youth fitness programs that include leadership development and community service components emphasizing the broader application of lessons learned through sports.
Together, we can empower deserving youth from Los Angeles to Chicago to New York City and in more than a dozen countries – including Sudan, Uganda, Liberia, and Haiti – to lace ‘em up, take a step forward, and never stop running toward their dreams!
