Runner Spotlight: Norberto Roman – Clarksville, Tennessee
Norberto, a disabled war veteran, was diagnosed with severe lung conditions due to exposure from sulfur fires and burn pits after serving two tours in Iraq. He was told that it would be difficult for him to run more than 2 miles, but was determined debunk this theory. He started running and set his sights to run 13.1.
“People see it impossible for me to do a half-marathon, so this will be my first half-marathon ever and is more than a race for me, it is my motivation to prove everybody wrong. My goal? To finish the race, to cross that line with my fellow wounded warriors.”
Norberto’s positive outlook and will to succeed allowed him to prove everyone wrong, and he finished the Country Music Half Marathon in 02:34:17!
