At MAX’s, they’re all about gourmet comfort food and wine, served up with a down-to-earth, rock ‘n’ roll style. Select from an array of breakfast items like their Red Velvet pancakes or Texas delights like their world famous fried chicken and bison sliders.

If you’re near the Riverwalk post-race, don’t  pass up this sweet eat. Kick up your feet for Sunday brunch with $10 bottomless mimosas, and carbo load with seasonal pancakes, waffles or french toast.

Every runner craves a good “Bite” especially post-race. Located in Southtown, Bite’s homemade tapas will take you on an adventure with selections ranging from chicken fried steak to crab croquettes, lobster rolls, escargot, and paella.

A hip weekend hangout, Barbaro combines post depression-era charm with a spin on classic cocktails and heavenly pizza. Try their Kale & Honey or Hot Salsa & Cilantro pizza, and the cauliflower or stone fruit salad if you’re looking for something on the lighter side.

Chris Madrid’s

Since 1977 Chris Madrid’s has been a burger-stop favorite. Hamburgers are the main dining course with six varieties and two sizes, regular and Macho (2x the size of the regular quarter-pounder).

Order the massive Tostada Burger garnished with re-fried beans, tortilla chips and cheddar cheese or for HOT HOT HOT try the Flaming Jalapeno with a side of Fresh cut french fries or nachos.

Rosario’s

For the best Mexican food in town, Rosario’s in the Blue Arts district is worth the wait. From the freshly made salsa and tortilla chips, the margarita list and delectable entrees there’s something for everyone. Salt deficient, try their Prickly Pear or Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita,  for the savory at heart try the Enchiladas de Mole or Queso Flameado, and for the Seafood lover the ceviche is to die for.

The Friendly Spot Ice House

Get friendly post-race at this outdoor Texas Ice House with 76 craft brews on tap , Sangria and homemade Micheladas. Every Sunday is Sunday Funday Brunch with $5 16oz. Friendly Mimosas from open till close. There’s something for everyone from Burgers, to nachos and delicious tapas. Kiddos and dogs are welcome too.

La Gloria Ice House

Celebrate the rich and delicious street foods from interior Mexico with a view of the Riverwalk. “From tacos al pastor in Mexico City, tlayudas in Oaxaca, to coctéles de mariscos from Veracruz, Mexico’s street foods are as unique and colorful as its traditions, people and culture.” Order the prickly pear margarita, bistec especial tacos and queso with chorizo.

Kate’s Frosting

Frost yourself post-race! With 3 different locations and 15 cupcake flavors, you’ll be sure to satisfy your sweet tooth at Kate’s Frosting. Locals rave over The Ruby Slipper (Red Velvet) and Jessica Rabbit (Carrot Cake) cupcakes. Looking for something lighter-try a sampler of Kate’s mini cupcakes or for a Gluten free or vegan alternative, cupcakes can be special ordered in a variety of flavors.
