Meet Read, Bake, Run, Repeat | Krista
Ever wonder who’s standing next to you in your corral at the start line, or cheering you on when you’re about to give up during a race? We’ll be featuring guest bloggers that have a passion for Rock ‘n’ Roll and inspire us by their dedication and commitment to the sport of running. You may recognize their faces, but the purpose of these posts is to put a face behind the name to better understand their journey to self-discovery.
A few years ago, on my birthday, I decided that I would start training for a half marathon, having barely run 3k before that day without walking. Since then, I have run over 20 half marathons and 1 full marathon and achieved half fanatic status. In 2014, I plan on running 3 full marathons and achieving marathon maniac status and I’m really looking forward to taking on Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle and Rock ‘n’ Roll Vancouver!
Running has totally changed my life for the better! After running my first half marathon in 2010, I had a really difficult pregnancy. I won’t lie, I struggled getting back to running but it has given me a way to maintain a healthy lifestyle and be a better mother to my son and I wouldn’t change a thing.
What I love about the Rock ‘n’ Roll Series is you just can’t beat that kind of excitement and entertainment during a race! In 2013, I ran both Rock n’ Roll Portland & Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle and they topped the list for my favorite races!
I might be biased but Vancouver truly is one of the most beautiful cities in the entire world. Running the streets of Vancouver with thousands of other runners is an experience that cannot be missed. Being part of Rock ‘n’ Roll Vancouver’s inaugural event is the perfect way to do that!
If you’re thinking about running a race in Vancouver, you want to do one where there’s awesome race/aid support, unbelievable entertainment, and truly amazing spectators. Rock n’ Roll has all of that covered for you; all you need to do is sign up!
Krista’s Favorite Quote: “I often hear someone say I’m not a real runner. We are all runners, some just run faster than others. I never met a fake runner.”
