Pace Rockers–Marathon Matt

Whether you want guidance finishing your first half, to have fun with a group or to set a personal record, Marathon Matt’s “Pace Rockers”, the official Pace Team will get you there!

Why are they the ‘Pace Rockers’? For the first time in Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series history, EVERY pacer will be running with a portable Boombotix speaker rocking tunes from start to finish! Not only will you get the finish time you are shooting for, but you will also have a great TIME doing it!

The Pace Rockers will lead groups for the following finish times:

  • 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, and 3:00

Frequently Asked Questions:

Who are the Pace Rockers?
All pacers are experienced runners and fitness enthusiasts who train with marathon matt.  Each pacer is capable of running 10-15 minutes faster than the time they are pacing. This allows them the ability to run comfortable throughout the race.

How do Pacers provide support during the race?
Pacers act as personal coaches during the race. Pacers offer helpful advice and may suggest adjustments in order to stay on pace. The goal is to get you across the finish line on time.

Why run with a Pacer?
Following a pacer eliminates any guesswork and/or race strategy. Runners who are looking for a personal record or those who simply have trouble pacing themselves over 13.1 miles will benefit the most from running with a pacer.

What is the Pace Team strategy?
All pace leaders will maintain a consistent, even effort pace throughout the race. Because of the wave start and crowds of runners, mile-1 may not be the most accurate. However, the pace leaders will make-up any time difference gradually throughout the 13.1 mile course.

How do I find the Pace Rocker?
Pacers will be lined up in the corrals with the rest of the runners. Pace leaders will be carrying bright signage that denotes the finish time goal. The sign will be attached to a stick so that it is visible throughout the race.

How do I sign up for the Pace Team?
It’s FREE. Simply drop by the Pace Team booth under the Lime Green balloon at the Health & Fitness Expo and sign up!
