Bootleggers is hosting a special St. Jude Singer Songwriter event Thursday night from 6-10pm. A portion of the proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Check out the talented lineup, we hope to see you there!

With three independent albums already under his belt, Brett Young is taking his newest batch of songs into the studio with David Hall at the production helm, known for his GRAMMY Award winning work as an engineer, with artists of nearly every genre. And true to form, he’ll be showcasing that intensity and emotion in his recordings, of songs like “Fire” and “Breathe Again.”
Brett has since played venues ranging from House of Blues to Troubadour, and shared the stage with such artists as Mandy Moore, Tyrone Wells, Jason Reeves, Gavin Degraw, Tyler Hilton, Katy Perry, Hoku and many more. Brett recently released his second record, Make Believe and is currently in the studio finishing up his latest album.
Billy Dawson and Lainey Edwards:
Rising country star Billy Dawson is a multi-talented singer, entertainer, author and writer. He is currently in the studio working with Grammy award winning writer and producer Skidd Mills on a new album to be released in 2014. Songwriting heavyweight Rivers Rutherford, who penned hits such as When I Get Where I’m Going (Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton), Real Good Man (Tim McGraw), These Are My People (Rodney Atkins) and Stealing Cinderella (Chuck Wicks), is a longtime supporter and mentor for Dawson.
Dawson has shared the stage with artists including Lady Antebellum, One Republic, John Hiatt, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, Skillet, Five For Fighting, Colt Ford, Charlie Louvin and Cross Canadian Ragweed.
Most recently Billy wrote and performed “Born to Lead” with an accompanying music video for the Rotary Lombardi Award Ceremony.
Moore, Oklahoma native Lainey Edwards is a country music singer/songwriter whose move to Nashville almost nine years ago has resulted in active working relationships with some of the industry’s most accomplished producers, songwriters, music publishers and record executives. Brett Beavers, Lainey’s Grammy-nominated producer, stated “She can write ‘em….and she can really sing ‘em.
Barbara Cloyd, songwriter and longtime booking agent for the world famous Bluebird Cafe, says “In Nashville there are a lot of beautiful young women who can sing, but not many who can deliver a song with the passion and intensity, Lainey does.”
Halter has released 5 albums, toured 50 states, and seen his popularity swell to more than 510,000 Twitter followers, 12,000 YouTube subscribers, and nearly 10,000 Facebook ‘Likes’.
In 2011 Justin Bieber covered Ernie Halter’s “Come Home To Me” making international headlines and exposing Halter’s music to a wide new audience.
