Bands that will play on course include Johnny Folsom 4, a Johnny Cash tribute band, the folk rock sounds of the String Peddlers, and Pork Chops and Ham Hocks, a popular local cover band. Tom Miller of the band Leeward Fate is familiar with the experience, having played on the course at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Marathon & ½ Marathon the past 3 years. Leeward Fate will play at mile 13 on race day.
“One of our band members lives in Georgia so we jumped at the chance. Our home base is here in Raleigh and we were excited to hear the race was coming to this great city”, says Tom. “It’s a unique gig for sure and we really enjoy interacting with the runners and performing for such a lively, fun crowd.”Read Full Story
