Gavin DeGraw to Headline Finish Line Concert Presented by the Horseshoe Cleveland

With one of the most recognizable voices of our time, combined with blue eyed soul vocals, freewheeling melodies and earthy charm; singer, songwriter, and musician Gavin DeGraw, has enjoyed success since breaking through in 2003 with his debut album, Chariot, which sold over a million copies, earned platinum certification, and yielded three hit singles: “I Don’t Want To Be,” “Follow Through,” and the title-track, “Chariot.” He followed that up with his self-titled second album, which debuted at No. 1 on the digital sales chart and at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart in 2008 (earning Gavin his first Top 10 album and spawning the hit singles “In Love With A Girl” and the gold-certified “We Belong Together.” After releasing 2009’s Free, a gift to die-hard fans clamoring for recorded versions of his live favorites, Gavin decided it was time to shake things up. “Not only do I love a challenge, but I also wanted something new to sing,” Gavin explains. “I’ve listened to my favorite songs 5,000 times, and I love them, but sometimes it’s hard to go home and put on that album and listen to it for the five thousand and first time. I needed to write something I found interesting both melodically and rhythmically and that meant stepping outside my wheelhouse.”

On Gavin’s new album SWEETER, the New York native experimented with new sounds, thanks, in part, to collaborating with a host of top-notch producers he’d wanted to work with for a while, including fellow groove-minded piano player OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder (Beyoncé, Adele), Butch Walker (Weezer, Avril Lavigne), Eric Rosse (Sara Bareilles, Tori Amos), and Ron Aniello (Barenaked Ladies, Matt Nathanson).

Hard Day’s Night

Hard Days Night

For 14 years, Hard Day’s Night has been entertaining Beatles fans across the country. The group is one of the few touring Beatles tribute bands that, through its musical talent and dedication to authenticity, was invited to perform at the world-famous Cavern Club – the birthplace of the Beatles – in Liverpool, England for International Beatles Week. This included a special appearance with Pete Best, the Beatles’ first drummer, at the Casbah Club.

Hailing from the rock ‘n roll city of Cleveland, Ohio, Hard Day’s Night is rated among the top national Beatles tribute groups performing today, and is dedicated to the Beatles’ touring performance standard of playing without recordings or click tracks. The band performs songs from the 1962-1966 era exactly as the Beatles themselves did: four musicians onstage, in character as John, Paul, George, and Ringo, wearing perfect stitch-for-stitch replications of the suits made famous by the Beatles, with authentic Vox, Hofner, Gretsch, Rickenbacker, and Ludwig instruments, playing the world-famous songs note-for-note.

The Old Stone Church

Its good for the body, its good for the soul! The Old Stone Church, Cleveland’s Original Rock since 1820, will be taking it to the streets with live music from the Living Stones rock band and the renowned Old Stone Choir on the main stage starting at 9:30am. For those looking for something a little more traditional, the historic church on Public Square will be open to visitors from 9:00am to noon.

That’s right, live rock bands every mile along the course. And we don’t mean strumming guitarists on the side of roads or in trees– we’re talking professionally staged and equipped uber-talented local groups eager to push those legs of your closer to the finish line. Feast your ears on a variety of sounds from alternative, classic and punk rock to blues, jazz and soul along each mile of the race course. The bands set the tempo for this block party, where runners and spectators alike will be “dancin’ in the streets.”
