Stroll Ocean Drive and take in the art deco designs then get out and take a dip in the “big warm blue bathtub” on white sandy beaches with fabulous people from everywhere. Get a Cuban or steak sandwich and a cafe con leche from David’s Cafe on Collins Avenue for some local flavor.
Tour the Wynwood Art District, now pretty famous for street/graffiti and art warehouse exhibits. Bring your camera and make sure you visit the “Wynwood Walls” where Shepard Fairey did a lot of stellar work. 2nd Saturday every month is the Wynwood “art walk” where thousands of people walk the streets admiring and adding to the culture of art that is growing quickly in Miami.
Cuisine: Sort of a diner, but possibly even better. Food trucks pop up around the Wynwood Art Walk every 2nd Saturday of the month, but if you can’t make it check out the link below. You can hunt down a food truck come rain or shine at just about any time.
Run across the Venetian Causeway from I-95 and head east on Lincoln Road (walking mall) all the way to the ocean. Pretty long run from the HWY, but possible. Or just run the 4-5 mile stretch of beach and boardwalk that runs along the ocean in Miami Beach.
Run on the beach with the famous “Raven.” http://ravenrun.net or run north along the boardwalk passed the Fontainebleau and other world class hotels.
Up and over the biggest bridge in Miami along the ocean into Key Biscayne on the running path. Stellar run!
Run from the stairs at American Airlines arena then south through downtown down Brickell Street and back.
