Important Race Update: Rock ‘n’ Roll Lexington Returns to its Bluegrass Roots
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Lexington Half Marathon is officially transitioning back to its original roots as the Lexington’s RunTheBluegrass Half-Marathon, a Lexington owned and operated event managed by Eric Patrick Marr of LeXenomics, the original Race Director.
While Lexington’s RunTheBluegrass Half-Marathon will retain some Rock ‘n’ Roll elements, it will no longer fall under the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series.
Competitor Group and LeXenomics have agreed it is in the best interest of all parties to keep the RunTheBluegrass Half-Marathon in Lexington a locally owned and operated event. Competitor Group will continue to provide marketing support and operational assistance to help Eric Patrick Marr continue to grow the event, while ensuring that the race remains true to its Bluegrass roots.

Most of the race weekend logistics will remain the same. Runners can plan on the same March 30th date with the start and finish venue from Keeneland Race Course and a two-day Race Expo on March 28th – 29th also from Keeneland. Race management is being restored to local Lexington resident and original founder of RunTheBluegrass Half-Marathon, Eric Marr, before it was rebranded a Rock ‘n’ Roll race. His experience and passion for the City of Lexington and the running community will ensure a top notch event and participants can expect a smooth operation from start to finish.
