2014 Headliner: The Presidents of the United States of America
It will be a hometown gig for the three members of The Presidents of the United States of America when they play in front of more than 20,000 runners at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon & 1/2 Marathon. The band got its start in Seattle more than two decades ago and will headline the post-race concert on Saturday, June 21!
Their debut self-titled album spawned huge radio hits like “Lump” and “Peaches,” earning them two Grammy nominations. Over the years, the band has continued to record and tour, creating new fans and selling out shows in London, Amsterdam, New York and Seattle. The rockers recently released their sixth studio album, titled Kudos to You!
Music every mile makes up the heart and “sole” of this event. Live Seattle bands will be performing a variety of music from alternative to classic rock, punk, funk and blues to jazz it up. Runners and spectators alike will be “Dancin’ in the Streets” to these mini-concerts.
If your band is interested in the opportunity to perform, please submit your materials.
Attention cheer teams and dance squads: we need you! Local high school and middle school cheer and dance teams are invited to compete in the Spirit on the Course competition. Teams will line the course ready to encourage participants every step of the way. Costumes and themes are optional, but smiles and enthusiasm are required!
